I would like for SHAA to report my CEU’s to ASHA and AAA so they appear on my CE Registry, what should I do?

SHAA is grateful for the opportunity to serve its members as an ASHA and AAA Continuing Education Provider. Part of SHAA’s responsibility as a CE Provider is to report participation in continuing education events in a timely manner. ASHA and AAA hold SHAA to reasonable and necessary reporting deadlines. If you would like SHAA to report your attendance at the annual SHAA convention you will need to complete the reporting process no later than March 1, 2023.

How do I ensure my CEU’s get reported to the ASHA CE Registry or the AAA CE Registry?

Follow the steps detailed above for reporting Continuing Education time from the SHAA Convention.

If I do not utilize the ASHA CE Registry, but I still want my hours to count towards my ASHA Cs, do I have to report my attendance to SHAA?

Yes, because, when self-reporting hours to ASHA, you’ll need to be prepared to show proof of attendance (in case of audit). Reporting your time through the SHAA website is the way to receive an Attendance Certificate. The Certificate will show the number of hours and will serve as your proof, both in case of audit AND for licensure purposes (e.g., through ABESPA). To receive an Attendance Certificate, you must report your CE time to SHAA using the steps above no later than March 1, 2023.

When may I begin reporting my CEU time to SHAA?

You may report your attendance/CEU time between February 11 and March 1, 2023. You will receive an email from SHAA on February 11 with an electronic link to the 2023 Convention Survey and CE Reporting Form.

If I watch the recorded sessions after convention has ended through the CELL Library will SHAA report my CEU’s to ASHA/AAA?

No, SHAA will only report your CEU’s to ASHA/AAA if you earned them during the convention period of February 9-28, 2023 and completed your CE Reporting by the March 1, 2023 deadline. The CELL Library does not report CEU’s to ASHA/AAA. All CEU’s earned through the CELL Library must be self-reported directly to ASHA/AAA.

What if I submit my CEU’s to SHAA after the March 1, 2023 deadline?

You will not have access to SHAA CE reporting links after March 1, 2023 at midnight. SHAA will not be able to submit your hours to ASHA or AAA on your behalf due to reporting deadlines that ASHA/AAA holds SHAA accountable for. If you would like your CEU’s to appear on your ASHA or AAA CE Registry and you did not meet the March 1 deadline for reporting to SHAA: · Submit an appeal to ASHA using this link: (https://www.asha.org/Form/Participant-Appeal/) · If you have questions about this process, you should contact ASHA directly at ashaprofdev@asha.org or call 301-296-8591 or AAA at infoAud@audiology.org or 800-222-2336.

· The ASHA CE Frequently Asked Questions may also help to answer any questions you may have about reporting your CEU’s. https://www.asha.org/CE/faqs/Continuing-Education-Frequently-Asked-Questions/

Once I finish consuming all of the sessions offered through the SHAA Convention will my attendance automatically be submitted to ASHA/AAA?

No, you must report your attendance through the steps above by March 1, 2023.

If I forget to report my CEU’s through SHAA by the March 1, 2023, deadline, will there be a grace period in which SHAA will be able to help me submit my CEU’s to ASHA?

No, any participant who does not submit their attendance to SHAA by March 1, 2023, will have to utilize the appeal process through ASHA if they want their CEU time reported.

Will I receive a Certificate of Attendance from SHAA for participation in the annual Convention?

Yes, you will receive a Certificate of Attendance from SHAA by email if you submit your CEU time by the March 1, 2023, deadline. The certificate is generated through JotForm so be sure to check your spam box.

If you are not a member of the ASHA CE Registry, you will only receive a Certificate of Attendance from SHAA, and your CEU time will not be submitted to ASHA. You will self-report your time to ASHA.

Is there a difference in reporting for recorded sessions versus live sessions?

No, you will utilize the process above to report your completion of CE time. You will indicate during the reporting process if you participated in the event live or virtually.

Do I have to take an assessment/complete an additional form when reporting my hours?

When you receive the email on February 11 to complete the “2023 SHAA Convention Survey” you will click to complete the survey, then you will be directed to the ASHA CE Reporting form and the AAA CE Reporting form. This form will require you to indicate if you attended a session live, virtually, or did not attend for general convention sessions, the ethics sessions, the clinical supervision session, and the DEI sessions. You will be prompted to complete a learner assessment as a part of your CE reporting.

If you met the reporting deadline, your Convention CEU information should appear on your ASHA CE Transcript within 60 days of the convention end date. This year, the convention ended on February 28 therefore your ASHA CE transcript should be updated by April 28.
